Retto.com donates € 975 to the Fundació Banc dels Aliments through its social initiative #ChallengesHeart of this year 2016.
At the Fundació Banc dels Aliments based in Barcelona was held the donation of the collection achieved during the first Christmas in Action #ChallengesHeart initiative, boosted by the online sports shop Retto.com and will continue in 2016.
Josep Dorsé, head marketing department of the online sports shop , undertook on behalf of Retto and Movistar Team the donation of the collection obtained through the choice of “fair trade products” by customers on their purchases.
With this donation, the Foundation, which fights against hunger and food waste, can buy products that fail to capture through their usual channels. Foods needed to provide a balanced diet.
“We face difficulties in getting supplies of protein products, such as fish or meat, because of its short term and difficult conservation. Therefore the economic donations are so important,” explained us Belém Giménez, head of communication.
Since 2008 the number of requests has tripled, but if we consider the citizens who are not seeking help for fear of social exclusion, the figures will push even higher.
“For us the best news would be the run out of customers,” tells us Jeroni Roca, Secretary of the Board during the visit to the Foundation’s premises.
Through this action Retto continues to enhance and claim its social values, which are not very usual in private companies of its size. Since the very beginning Retto has been expressing it always with the support of the Movistar Pro Cycling Team and multiple public personalities like Santi Millán, Valentí Sanjuan, Nieves Moya and Sisquillo or Purito Rodríguez among others.
